History

The Sierra Cyclesmith was born out of many years of experience, building bikes, racing, wrenching, and training athletes and commitment to the sport. 1988 proved to be a year of profound growth and change for Tim, taking into account all of those previous years of experience and acumen, he founded Sierra Cyclesmith. This change allowed the Greater Truckee Meadows to benefit from one of the most experienced and knowledgeable cycling professionals in The United States. You'll find this personal commitment with every employee and in every corner of The Sierra Cyclesmith shop. With huge "Thanks" to our many patrons, we begin our 14th year as a "shop of choice" in Northern Nevada.
Leon Z Leon will be giving us some bio information in the future.
John Anastaskas John Anastasakes - John classifies himself as a casual cyclist. He's had an interest in riding bikes ever since he outgrew his tricycle and fire engine pedal-car. He comes to Sierra Cyclesmith with over ten years of bicycle shop experience. He feels most at home when he is riding his Specialized Enduro mountain bike in the Santa Cruz mountains and around the trails of the South Bay Peninsula. In addition to riding mountain and road bikes, John also enjoys riding his beach-cruiser around the neighborhood. What John likes most about working at Sierra Cyclesmith is the broad base of customers who share the passion of cycling.

John A Colnago John Wickland - John is a self-proclaimed bike-a-holic. He's been riding passionately for over 25 years. Whether it's commuting to work, racing in the amateur ranks, toiling (ha ha) as a professional tour guide or just thrill-seeking in the local wilderness, John is happiest when on his bike. John brings over 20 years of retail experience to Sierra Cyclesmith, working most recently as manager at Bicycle Bananas in Reno and as assistant manager at McGhies Ski Bike and Board in Las Vegas. John is also a certified spin instructor.

Colin Falk Colin Falk - Colin is a graduate of UNR. He recently earned an apprenticeship at Buckbean Brewing Company. He brews his own beer. Colin has been a shop mechanic for two years and has worked at Sierra Cyclesmith for two previous years while learning bicycle mechanics. He enjoys building custom bikes and lacing wheels. Colin believes that steel is real. He owns nine bikes (mostly schwinns that are older than he is) and have no garage.
Zack Rybak Zack Raybak has been riding bikes his whole life. He sarted freeride mountain biking at age 14 and hasn't stopped since. In the summer of 2009 he went to a UBI mechanic course for two weeks. From there he worked on his own bike at home until being hired by Sierra Cyclesmith in February 2010. He also enjoyes shredding his fixie and hanging out with all the hipsters. Some people call me the songbird of my generation.
